Obtaining Investment Capital
If yours is a young company, there will come stages in its development where it will need an infusion of capital to help it develop to the next stage. Through its network of connections in the Venture Capital and Private Equity markets, Cambiar can help you raise that capital as well as author key documents needed to attract investors.
In seeking to attract investment, there are two key phases:
The building of the investment story
The marketing of the investment story
The building of the story involves laying out clearly why someone should commit capital to your enterprise. It should specify not only the market that you are addressing (including the size of the opportunity) but how you are going to capitalize on or disrupt that market. It should lay out your solution as well as your roadmap for attacking the market; and it should clearly state how the funds you will be raising will be used to attain the results you seek. Finally, it should give an investors a good (and realistic) idea of the returns that they may expect – and over what time period – from their investment.
Cambiar partners experienced in building investment stories will help you in this process and will author initial marketing stories (“teasers”) as well as the Investment Offering Memorandum. We will assist you through challenging your assumptions and through ensuring that the financial case you are making to potential investors will stand up to scrutiny.
From there we will market the story. This entails identifying investors who have shown an interest in the segment of the market in which you are competing using our databases of key investors in the marketing research and analytics industry. These include Venture Capital and Private Equity firms, strategic investors and high net worth individuals. Who we will approach depends on the business you are in, your company’s stage of development and the investor’s prior record in this area.
Once we have obtained interest in your story, we will arrange management meetings with potential investors and will coach you on the presentation materials and approaches that you plan to use.
